Wouldn’t it be wonderful if it were always this easy? Simple. Effortless. No smoke and mirrors. That’s how we want our clients to feel when we take on a new project. No matter how tough the deadlines, or how complicated the solutions seem, we’ll explore fresh thinking to fire things up, mix in solid solutions, and implement a plan in ways that will take your communications to new heights.
Here are a few success stories we’d like to share.
Austin Associates
Austin Associates, a consulting firm specializing in banking, finance, securities and accounting practices, engaged Creative Oxygen to help them bring a higher level of consistency and visual brand to their client communications. Austin generates extensive financial reports. Creative Oxygen helped organize information in a more effective, visual manner and designed templates for these publications using Word, Excel and PowerPoint—programs used by Austin.
We created a style guide that included a color palette, font styles, document set up and logo use guidelines as well as templates for charts and graphs. We held a “branding session” with the Austin employees who are responsible for generating the reports and presentations. We worked directly with the staff to help them implement their new look. As part of their ongoing communication to bank directors and officers, we designed a print newsletter, an e-newsletter, and trade ads that provide a consistent visual message for Austin Associates.
St. Ursula Academy
Facing a competitive educational market, St. Ursula Academy needed a communications initiative to convey the power, excitement, spirit, and academic excellence that makes it the best choice for high school girls in northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. We were asked to develop and coordinate a marketing initiative that supported the SUA theme "Girl Power" for the 2009/2010 academic year.
A comprehensive media plan was developed for a regional campaign using TV, radio, electronic billboards and print advertising. TV and radio spots were created to air on key stations at strategic times throughout the academic year. The media campaign, directed to junior high students and their parents, featured real SUA students promoting the benefits of a SUA education.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition — Toledo
Early in August 2008, the call came in that Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was coming to Toledo to build a home for a deserving family the week of September 7. As part of Hoeck Associates, our team worked with the builder, The Buckeye Real Estate Group, to coordinate the event in just 4 weeks. Our responsibilities included creating a communications plan, branding the Toledo event, assisting in raising corporate and in-kind donations, arranging for VIP entertaining, coordinating fundraising events and supplying technical support.
We established a theme and graphic look, branding the event “Hearts and Hands for Heroes.” With little time and much to accomplish, we invited area agencies and marketing/PR professionals to partner with us to handle the local communication responsibilities. Toledo answered by stepping up in a big way—willingly helping by volunteering time, energy and expertise. Volunteer coordinators were chosen and got to work arranging food donations, VIP entertaining, and a host of other needed tasks. Working with 13ABC and other regional media, we built excitement with extensive TV, radio, newspaper, and electronic billboard coverage. A website was completed in just two weeks that included daily updates with on-site photos and progress reports posted online and on electronic billboards. Over 4,000 people attended a sold-out fundraising event featuring Christian rock group and Grammy winner, Sanctus Real. Photographers and videographers were scheduled on site 24/7 to document the build.
EMHE Producers — Lock and Key Productions — credit Toledo as one of the most successful builds in television history. Community involvement was unprecedented. The Toledo build utilized over 3,000 volunteers and 10,000 skilled man-hours. More than 9,000 meals were served and fans followed the progress logging more than 2.5 million website hits before, during and after the build. Together in 96 hours — working round the clock, we built a beautiful 4,000 square-foot home for Hometown Heroes Aaron and Jackie Frisch and their 11 children.
Our team is very proud to have been a part of this impressive community project. We successfully communicated to EMHE viewers around the world the generosity and caring spirit that exists in our hometown.
